Montana Living Magazine featured this Moonlight Basin home in Montana's Finest Homes, Mountain Hideaways in 2008. Bitterroot Timber Frames "captured the essence of fine living" in this 5500 square foot timber frame home using antique hand-hewn timbers and post and beam construction. Bitterroot Timber Frames "refines the art of the perfect Montana hideaway. "
The Reclaimed wood used in this project is highly desirable for its aesthetic qualities and heritage. Each timber is unique based on a variety of characteristics. Antique hand-hewn timbers will generally have score marks from the ax, mortise pockets used to join the timbers, dowel holes, etc. that give each a one-of-a-kind feeling and aesthetic.
